An Indian cricketer named Mukesh Kumar was selected as a wedge for the Indian team for the Twenty20 International (T20I) series against Sri Lanka in 2022.
Kumar’s father had intended him to enlist in the army, but he failed the exam on his first three attempts. His father subsequently requested him to move to Bengal in 2012, where he was employed as a taxi driver, and find another employment to help support his family financially. His coach in his hamlet stated in an interview that although he was passionate about cricket, he really wanted to join the Indian army.
He was granted an intimate Pratibha ki Khoj trial in 2008–2009, which was held in the Bihar region of Gopalganj. In seven games, he took 34 wickets while bowling. He competed for Bihar U-19 in the BCCI-hosted Associate & Affiliate Competition in 2010.
